We’re pleased to present a comparison table of letting agents’ fees, carried out by the Rent Smart partnership in June and July 2018.
The information was compiled from letting agent websites and phone calls to agents. The purpose of the research is to give renters a better idea of the range of fees they will be charged, and prompt them to ask questions if anything is not clear.
The table also includes whether the agency will accept tenants who are claiming benefits. The vast majority say that this depends on the landlord, but some of the guidance is useful.
We hope most agents are included but please let us know if we have missed any (firstname.lastname@example.org). We also welcome corrections and updates to these figures from agencies. This research was put together in good faith, but renters should check all figures with the letting agents themselves to ensure they are accurate and up to date.
A blog post on this research will be available shortly.
